Designed for students who need a more manageable academic pace in the early part of the program —allowing greater flexibility for part-time work and personal responsibilities.
In the final three terms, all students transition into full-time clinical placements, requiring a daytime schedule and limiting outside work. Due to the pace, students should be prepared for a consistent full-time schedule, with limited flexibility for outside work.

Put theory into practice during on-campus residencies in four trimesters. While earning your MS-SLP at one of our online speech pathology programs in Texas, you'll build clinical skills, collaborate with your cohort and interprofessionally train with state-of-the-art equipment in real and simulated settings. Is the MS-SLP program accredited in Texas?
Yes, the USAHS MS-SLP program is CAA accredited. Coursework and residencies align with state licensure standards.
How does the hybrid format work?
Online courses + one three-day residency experiences in 4 terms at our Austin or Dallas campus.
How long is the SLP program?
Five trimesters (1 year, 8 months) or eight trimesters (2 years, 8 months).2
How many clinical hours will I complete?
A minimum of 400 supervised hours7 across pediatric and adult settings.
Do I need to relocate to Texas full time?
No. Reside in an approved state1 and travel for residencies.
When are the application deadlines?
Cohorts often fill early. Apply at least eight weeks before September, January or May start dates or ask an enrollment advisor for the next application deadline.

The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) is a graduate institution that offers degree programs in occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, graduate nursing, healthcare education, as well as continuing education programs.
Founded in 1979, USAHS has locations in San Marcos, California; St. Augustine, Florida; Miami, Florida; Austin, Texas; and Dallas, Texas.

Students should be advised that the program is designed and intended to prepare graduates for SLP licensure in many states. However, graduates may need to complete additional requirements to be eligible for a license or certificate to work in a school setting or to have the ability to complete practicum in a school setting in his/her particular state of residence or school district, depending on the state and/or school district’s unique requirements. Students should contact the state board of education or his or her school district directly to determine if the program meets the requirements for state SLP certification or licensure in a school setting.
