As a leader in physical therapy education and innovative learning, USAHS understands that students, and how they learn, are different from one another. That’s why we offer two options for earning your Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree: Residential and Flex (online/weekends). You will get the same level of hands-on experience and earn the same graduate degree - just on a different schedule.

The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) is a graduate institution that offers degree programs in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, nursing, education, health administration, and health science, as well as continuing education programs.

Founded in 1979, USAHS has locations in San Marcos, California; St. Augustine, Florida; Austin, Texas; Dallas, Texas; and Miami, Florida. USAHS is regionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

Common Questions

We’re proud to be the largest graduate PT school in the United States, with five campuses and three start dates per year.

We’re leaders in PT education.

Why You’ll Love USAHS

We’re innovators.

Our founder, Stanley Paris, PT, PhD, is a pioneer of manual physical therapy techniques and of flexible learning models. Our DPT program combines the best of online education together with hands-on practice in our state-of-the-art facilities.

We’re hands-on.

Both tracks feature the same amount of lab time, with on-campus labs and simulation-based learning sessions held on select weekends each month. Both also include clinical internship experiences.

Will I earn the same degree?

Yes! In our Flex DPT, you will follow the same curriculum and earn the identical degree as our Residential DPT—just on a different schedule.

Is financial aid available?

Financial aid and scholarships are available. Ask an enrollment advisor for details after completing the above form.

When can I start?

USAHS offers start dates in September, January, and May for most of our programs.

Does a weekday or a weekend schedule make more sense for your life?

One DPT program,
two formats.

Residential DPT

If you live near campus and you prefer to meet for labs and classes on weekdays, choose the Residential track. This 8-trimester track features on-campus, weekday classes blended with digitally delivered lectures and coursework.

Flex DPT

Our Flex DPT track features digital coursework blended with on-campus clinical labs held on scheduled weekends each month. If you are busy with work and family, or you live a distance from campus, this 12-trimester option was designed with you in mind.
