Earn Your Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD)

If you envision yourself in a leadership role within occupational therapy, USAHS’ Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program may be the best program for you. In the OTD’s two additional trimesters of study beyond the MOT, you will take courses in leadership, advocacy, and policymaking. You will also engage in a capstone project, in which you will choose your own area of OT interest and investigate it deeply.

Our Residential OTD offers the flexibility of online coursework plus on-campus clinical lab classes held on weekdays. The Flex OTD also features online coursework, with lab classes held on scheduled weekends each month. It’s designed for students who work, have family obligations, or live far from campus.

How Our OTD Program Stands Apart

We’re
blended.

We pair online lectures with in-person practice. You’ll learn the material in advance online. Then, you’ll come to campus ready to engage in clinical scenarios in our state-of-the-art simulation labs, featuring actual medical equipment and environments.

During your very first trimester, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with your peers in other rehabilitative science disciplines, learning each other’s roles and responsibilities.

We’re
interprofessional.

We respect our students as future colleagues and healthcare practitioners. We build critical thinkers who are committed to cultural responsiveness and have high ethical standards – along with compassion, empathy, and grit.

We’re a tight-knit community.
